This Is Sort of Personal But What the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks...

Last night before I went to bed I checked my cell phone. Eight voice mail messages. Eight. Quickly, I checked to see if the world was indeed crumbling away beneath my feet. Negatory.

Curious to see who had been mortally wounded in my life, and no longer distracted by watching endless reruns of Flipping Out, I checked the messages. They were from:
  1. The library
  2. The library
  3. My mom (this was from a week ago, so you can see what sort of offspring I am)
  4. The library
  5. The library
  6. My dad
  7. The library
  8. My dad's cell phone. It called me by accident. He and my mom were talking to someone. It sounded like they were having a nice time in the outside world, interacting with human beings.
Lessons I have learned from these eight messages:
  1. I love the library
  2. The library is very prompt about indicating I have a hold ready for me to pick up
  3. I place a lot of holds
  4. I do not have a life
  5. My parents are very nice people who call me a lot
  6. My parents do have a life
  7. No one calls me except the library and my parents
  8. I should just get rid of my cell phone

Wow, your library calls you?? Mine only sends an email. Would probably be better if they figured out all the holds and made one call though? My last few calls span over a few days and also contain family. haha.

There must be a choice to get them to email me instead but then...who would call me? Just this morning, the library called me again. It was heartwarming, hearing that little robotic voice saying hello.

Thank goodness for family.

Yea, you can opt into the email notification. I prefer it because the library's automaton always takes soooo long to get through a simple sentence.

Speaking of Library Holds... What books did you have waiting for you??

Haven't picked them up yet but I have Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet, Sea Sick and Trauma Farm. Gonna go pick them up tomorrow! I love testing out cookbooks at the library before I buy them though I worry slightly as to how clean they are.

If it makes you feel better, my voicemail box contains the same messages from practically the same people! Don't worry, we are plenty cool! LOL
