Anansi Girls Do McNally Robinson

Last night, House of Anansi kindly invited me and six other winners to ride the 'Magic Bus' up to McNally Robinson's new Don Mills store to hear Lisa Moore, Emily Schultz, Karen Solie and Shani Mootoo read from their new books of fiction or poetry. This was a great opportunity to meet four Canadian female writers with phenomenal literary talent and pick their brains.

Without further! These are a little small so click on my Picasa widget to the left to see the full slideshow.

Lisa Moore gave a blistering reading, the best I'd heard in a while, and I had a great chat with Shani Mootoo (who is lovely). McNally Robinson's Don Mills location is a beautiful space and makes a great place to hold a night of readings (having a restaurant on site doesn't hurt either!)

Please do check out Emily Schultz's Heaven is Small, Lisa Moore's February, Shani Mootoo's Valmiki's Daughter and Karen Solie's Pigeon.

Thanks to House of Anansi for organizing this event.
